We are hard at work to make our textbooks fully interactive on mobile devices. Currently the frame components are fully responsive. We are still working to make our visualizations responsive as well. Stay Tuned!

In order to increase the overall efficiency of building textbooks with uflo’s components system, we are now introducing Quickstart symbols. These shortcuts are designed for more complex frame components with nested symbols. You are allowed to add any type of HTML content into your frame, which opens up immense possibilities for increasing interactivity of the written portion of each textbook.

Embed video from sites like YouTube and Vimeo directly into your frames. By clicking on the video, you can view your video in full screen when a lightbox opens.

Add notecards to add flavor to your frames. The notes come in many different colors, and they include a heading and multiple text elements inside of them.

You can add image or video galleries inside of each frame. Depending on the importance of the gallery items, thumbnails can also be shown.

You can add bullet or numbered lists in a simple or nested format, to any frame or nest lists by adding a list inside another individual list item.

Sticky frames are useful components for complex animations that require a step-by-step playback. You can see an example where the frame sticks to the page, enabling a more precise playback.

By popular request, we are now allowing frames to be locked on the screen. This allows the user to interact with the visualizations while having their pre-specified frame remain in view at all times.

In order to increase the interactivity of our platform, we are now adding support for question and answer frames. You may simply type “Question Quickstart” to add a question and two frames will be added to the page. The first frame is a uniquely designed question frame, which only supports Multiple Choice or True/False Questions for now. The second frame is the answer frame in which you enter the explanations associated with the correct answer. You may add multiple frame answers for one given questions wrapper. The correct answer will only appear after the student has selected the correct choice in the question.

You can now add expandable components to your frames. The expandable’s primary function is that when you click on the component, a dialogue appears at the bottom of the screen. Expendables are useful when you want to hide additional information that may be necessary to the understanding of the class materials. This element itself is a frame, so you can add any other frame components into it. Lastly, the users can close the dialogue by simply clicking on the empty space above it.

You can now add predefined or custom tags to each frame. These can help you better organize the material, and notify students of the type of frame they are encountering.
