1:21 DOK Levels
Webb's Depth of Knowledge (DOK) levels are essential for determining the complexity of thinking required in learning objectives. There are four distinct levels:
DOK Level 1 - Recall and Reproduction
- Focus: Basic recall of learned information
- Example: Identifying examples of climate change
DOK Level 2 - Skills and Concepts
- Focus: Using concepts in simple settings
- Example: Describing how climate change affects individuals worldwide
DOK Level 3 - Strategic Thinking
- Focus: Complex reasoning and planning
- Example: Explaining community programs developed to combat climate change
DOK Level 4 - Extended Thinking
- Focus: Complex reasoning over extended periods
- Example: Discussing the impact of coordinated international efforts on climate change
2:51 Learning Domains
Learning objectives can be categorized into three distinct domains:
1. Knowledge Acquisition
This domain focuses on what learners should know.
EXAMPLE
"By the end of this lesson, students will be able to list the major causes of climate change."
2. Behavior and Skill
This domain focuses on what learners should be able to do.
EXAMPLE
